I will be in Raleigh by lunch time, alley opens at 9AM on Friday.   I know I'm in block C but I don't know much more than that so I will tweet my location once I'm there.

Be sure to come to the panel on Friday night (there are three Sailormoon panels, but this is the one I'm helping with).  I'm bringing along a few small but rare collectibles so you can get up close and personal with the shiny.

I also have a panel on Friday at 6PM in 301B. It will either be about Managing Your Collection of anime/manga merch or it will be about How To Take Commissions. They really messed up the schedules so I am just going to run whichever panel for which more people show up.

Just a brief update and follow up to my last journal!

I'm sorry to those artists and friends I was looking forward to seeing at AnimeNEXT, but I have started the process of withdrawing from they Art Alley.  I feel really silly having just paid them and been so excited about getting in, but after talking to some awesome friends (thanks Songy and Uni!) I've realized that a bridal shower, a bachelorette party, a baby shower, three conventions and a wedding is just TOO MUCH THINGS in that small of a time period. ; A ;

I hope that I can get to AnimeNEXT some year though! I really want to go still but I'm actually going to go with REASON instead of emotion for once and do what is best for my sanity.

BUT GO TO THE ART ALLEY AT AN AND SEE ALL MY AWESOME FRIENDS WHO WILL BE THERE LIKE and who will have Sailormoon things on my behalf! xD (anyone else?)

I am still hoping and waiting to hear from AWA. I want to at least try one new con this year, so hopefully that will be it. :3

In the meantime, just trying to catch up on commissions and stuff I owe people.  As soon as I'm caught up I can start con prep! ^0^

Anime Boston was amazing and everything I hoped it would be. I had a fantastic time, met some amazing people, saw some familiar faces and sold a lot of things that I've had kicking around my table for a loooooong time.   It was a really fun weekend even though I'm sad I missed all three Sailormoon photoshoots. ; A ; I did get to go to the Sailormoon panel and spend the whole time there! I really hope the people who came had fun and were laughing WITH me and not AT me.  Actually, you can laugh at me too, I don't really mind as long as you are laughing.

I spent over $100 in the art alley this year. There were just so many amazing things! Finally got the orange cat tee from 1% Talent that I've wanted! (their site seems to be down right now but you can see it on the Wayback Machine's archive.  I picked up an original water color from and some Madoka buttons from   I bought some prints from and got to meet her adorable little girl! :3  I bought some Sailormoon and Madoka button sets from Supermeow!   I was also gifted a few cute things! gave me some awesome little Cosmic Heart earrings and gave me an awesome set of Sailormoon buttons!   Ahh and (pretty sure it was her) gave me a cute Sailormoon cats keychain too! I love it!

22,065 people came to AB this year. Amazing!

Now I'm quickly realizing that I have a lot of catching up to do. I still owe people art from QCK so that's my priority right now. I have two full body plushies to finish before the end of April for my AB raffle winner and for Hime-chan. Once that's caught up, I have AB chibi commissions.  There is only 42 days between now and Animazement so once I'm done all that I need to start con prep immediately. Two weeks after AZ is AnimeNEXT so I should be prepping for AZ like it's two conventions.  Only two weeks after AN is PortConMaine. So basically... I have no idea what I was thinking.

Somehow I am going to do all of these things and eventually it will be July and I will be opening plush commissions online.

Unless I explode.

Still waiting for my stuff to come to wrap up that debacle, but in the meantime, I still needed a sign!

I really wanted a new banner for my table at anime conventions. The felt one I had was cute and really personal, but it didn't have a stand and it got dirty easily.  I wanted something that POPPED! ^0^

I spent a lot of time designing a banner that I loved and I was so sad that I couldn't find a place that had both the QUALITY I expected (I mean, at least 150DPI please?!) and a price I could afford (my local print shop wanted over $150 for a 2 x 6 foot banner T__T)  

BUT THEN I FOUND ESIGNS.COM

This whole post is basically a commercial for them because they DID IT ALL RIGHT.

First of all, unlike OTHER SITES, this one is VERY user friendly and easy to use.  When you go to the vinyl banner section there's a simple drop down thing where you can select what size you want and see the prices right there on the page. No quotes or jumping through hoops to find what you want.

You can upload your own design or design one on their site.  I downloaded their template for a 2 x 6 foot banner and it was the exact size of the banner I'd designed.    150 dpi! I uploaded to it to their site and within a few hours I had a proof ready for my approval. (what I would suggest to them here is that it would be nice if the proof showed where the grommets would be).

They print NEXT DAY. How cool is that? And then you can decide on your shipping which is REASONABLY PRICED.  Mine came in one week.

I'm just so impressed. I am most definitely getting another, smaller banner from them and I plan to tell everyone I know about how awesome my experience was.  I also have a 10% off code for anyone who wants to get one. Just note me

If you've ever played Mafia/Werewolf, it's a game like that but with a Sailormoon theme.  I used to run a similar game on my (dying) message boards.  It's a "who done it" type sort of role play game where you have to try to figure out who the bad guys are before they kill everyone!  Very fun, check it out!

I got a tattoo yesterday.

It's the Ginzuishou on my chest.  It took about and hour.  It definitely hurt but I didn't cry.  I am going to wait til it's all healed up to post a pic on DA but for those of you who don't follow me on twitter here's the photo I posted last night right after she finished. (It's a bit bloody still in that pic, haha)

So it's going to take a few days to heal up then I promise to take a nice photo for the gallery (and then I can finally submit to #Sailormoon-tattoos!

I'm sorry, I don't have a pony pattern ;( However, if you do win I might be able to do a humanoid version of a pony for you ^___^;

I've almost caught up on stuff I owe people.  I've made good progress on Miko's pendant, almost done with Pysi's doll, and I've got two drawings to do. Technically, once those things are done I could open commissions for drawings and items, but I think maybe I will take at least a few days and make some things for me. xD  I've got that Princess Tutu picture that I started a while back and it still needs a background.  I've also been dying to do some Nanoha and Madoka art.  I also kind of want to do some Sailormoon art because I feel like I haven't done it in a while. 

Maybe I can get another Sailor Legs picture done! >3< Luna and Healer or Iron Mouse and Tin Nyanko? I'll do whichever one gets the most votes.

I went sky diving!   It was AWESOME.

I highly recommend it to everyone.  I wasn't scared at all (I kind of wish I had been a bit more scared, actually) and it was really a unique experience.  I didn't really feel like I was falling that much, more like flying. I got a lot of air up my nose and it was really cold (it hurt my sensitive fillings).  Other than the free fall, the next best part was the turning once the chute opened.  That was the part that was most like a roller coaster!  I was surprised by how strong the pull was when you spin around and around!  I want to do it again soon.

You should be able to see more pictures here.   I also paid for a video that they said they will send in the mail in a few days. Looking forward to that for sure!

The other big thing I have to post a journal about is my 2012 Plush Adoption Calendar:

ONLINE BOOKING FOR PLUSHIE ADOPTIONS IN 2012 HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL JULY.

Originally, I was planning on opening them this month after AAC.  I am sorry if this is a disappointment to some of you, but I have really good reasons for the delay so please let me explain. ^__^;

I started working on the calendar for next year and I quickly realized that most of the online bookings were going to end up towards the end of the year.  This is actually what happened in 2011 as well because most of the beginning of the year gets filled up with conventions and convention bookings. I am also taking off the entire months of March, April, and May for con prep and for my own sanity.  

Since it looked like the Online Bookings wouldn't happen until the end of the year anyway, I started thinking about how silly it would be to book those commissions now and make everyone wait ALL that time before they actually saw the progress on the work.  I appreciate that my customers believe in me enough to make such advanced bookings, but I feel like it got a little stressful for me to know I had little control over changing my schedule for a whole year once I'd accepted them.

A lot can change in 10 months.  There's a few family things going on in my life right now (no, I'm not pregnant - yet!) and it would be kind of a hassle to have to move around everyone's commissions if something popped up (like babies). It also wouldn't be fair to people who'd been promised art at a certain time to have to then go and move all that work to an unknown alternate.  Plus, I really would like to be a little more flexible about my time next year since this year there was more than one month when I felt overwhelmed.

So after some chatting with friends I think this is the best way to proceed.  Assuming everything stays the same as it is now, I will be opening the online adoption form in July 2012.  Until the, the only way to book with me will be at anime conventions.  You can see the tentative schedule here, though please bear in mind it is subject to change.

In the meantime, I have to encourage you to check out some of my awesome plush making artist friends!  They are taking commissions right now.  Please visit the links beside their names for more info!

I made a YouTube video of my making a plushie. It's time lapsed 64x speed so it takes a little over 9 minutes to see the full thing come together (in real time it was just shy of 10 hours). There's Sailormoon music to keep you entertained.

It took me a few days to figure it out but I'm glad I did it! It's really neat to watch. I left in the kitties, hehe.

Good news all around! I got a table at Another Anime Con AND my panel, "How to Take Commissions" was approved! It's in the schedule for Saturday at 4pm in the Amherst room. Right now, I'm the only panelist *wibble* so if any other artists going to AAC want to jump in and lend a hand with your experience and input I'd love to have you!

I want to do a LiveStream version of the panel in a few days so that I can get a feel for how long it runs and make sure there aren't any big glaring things I am missing.  I hope some of you will come by for it and give me your feedback! ^0^ It will be a cool way for you to get the information from the panel without actually going to the convention.

Of course I haven't started anything for AAC yet to sell! In typical Sakky-fashion I will be panicking to prepare at the last minute while I try to keep up with all my other fun projects.

I am so excited to be going to the Sailormoon Manga Release Party tonight at Comicopia in Boston, MA!  A lot of awesome people are going, too! ~Chi2 and ~mnemosyneforgot are riding with me and MarioKnight (is he on DA?).  *KoriMichele and *jsheaisaninja are coming, too!! I've seen some pics of the new release and even though I'm sure some of it is going to be a little weird and different I AM JUST SO DAMN EXCITED ABOUT THIS DAY.

I am not going to dress up because I really want to be comfortable, but I am going to accessorize   

It's going to be so much fun to hang out with a bunch of people who LOVE SAILORMOON!

I'm still way behind on everything and I have so much to do I can't even begin to thing about it.  First I desperately need to finish the stuff I owe ~Hao-007 and then I need to get *mucai's and ~ice-sapphire plushies made ASAP.  I still have commissions from Otakon to finish! GAH that was in JULY! How has it become September?! Continued love to *kashoku, ~gothicvanity and *Nijikaze-KrisP for their patience with me!
